IDA Board Meeting: Proposal for multipurpose stadium on Super Corridor; to host concerts, fairs, and exhibitions

In light of the country's rapidly growing concert economy, the IDA Board has decided to develop the land reserved for sports stadiums along the Super Corridor through a public-private partnership (PPP) model rather than selling it. The IDA will construct a multipurpose stadium here, focusing on recreational use (stadium) as the primary purpose of the sports complex.
To achieve this, the government will issue an expression of interest (EoI) with government permission and invite proposals from international developers and event companies. Similarly, if an agency for ISBT operation is not found even after two tenders, its terms will be revised.
On Wednesday, the IDA Board meeting was held under the chairmanship of IDA Chairman and Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh. Collector Ashish Singh, Municipal Commissioner Shivam Verma, Chief Executive Officer MS Rawat, and other members were present. Chairman Deepak Singh stated that more than 10 proposals were discussed in the meeting. The IDA issued tenders twice for the construction of a stadium on the land of the proposed sports complex on the Super Corridor. Sports organizations and developers are reluctant to take interest due to the project's cost exceeding 200 crore rupees and limited activity.
The land is intended for recreational use (stadium), so developers and event companies can come forward and build a multi-purpose stadium here. This could accommodate sports, music concerts, fairs, exhibitions, and other events. Because the city lacks a suitable location for such events, we will issue an EoI after obtaining government permission.
Decision to give Rs 5 lakh for the 300th birth anniversary of Ahilya
Chairman Singh stated, "It has been decided to provide ₹5 lakh to the committee for the events being held on the occasion of the 300th birth anniversary of Goddess Ahilya. Flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Prime Minister's Housing Scheme) will also be constructed in TPS-8. The ISBT in Kumedi is also ready. Tenders were issued twice for the operating agency, but no company expressed interest. Now, the tender is being issued after making some amendments to the tender conditions."
Agency appointed for Senior Citizen Complex, will maintain it
IDA has prepared a senior citizen complex in Scheme 134. There are 32 two and one bedroom flats, common kitchen, clinic and other facilities. The agency decided by IDA will operate it. This agency will provide health, daily needs and food related services to the elderly living here and will also do the maintenance. CEO Ahirwar said that IDA had invited tenders on the basis of Rs 1.50 lakh per month. Four companies gave tenders, Hotel Balaji Ratlam paid Rs 3.51 lakh and Mental Health and Research paid Rs 1.87 lakh. The board has approved Balaji's tender.
Proposals will be invited for convention center and startup park.
Board Secretary and CEO Ramprakash Ahirwar presented the meeting's proposals. He stated that the government has approved the construction of the Startup Park and Convention Center on a PPP model. Expressions of Interest (EOIs) will be issued for both projects, inviting proposals. Further work on both projects can begin. An international consultant agency has been appointed for the Startup Park, and a developer is now being sought to construct it.
