New Startup Park To Nurture Budding Businesses In Indore

Indore: Indore Development Authority (IDA), in its bid to make Indore a hub of startups, has decided to spend Rs 450 crore to develop a startup park in 20acres of land on Super Corridor.
According to IDA chairman Jaypal Singh Chawda, a startup park and data centre has been proposed at Super Corridor in Scheme 151 and 169-B (Sector D) in around 20acres of land.
“The land belongs to IDA and we don’t require to any additional land or permissions for said project,” Chawda said, adding that estimated cost of first phase of building construction in 20,500 square feet area is Rs 450Crore.
The project is thought of as multiple building block aiming to cater to different uses. The provisions proposed in this project include convention centre, startup offices, co-working space, incubation centre, related labs, showrooms and branded retail outlets, banks and ATMs, entertainment zone, restaurants, 5-star hotel, cafeteria, parking provisions on ground as per norms.
“We have invited tender for selection for an architectural consultant for designing of masterplan for mixed land use development with planning and designing of first phase building proposed in the startup park and data centre at Super Corridor” he said, adding that the tenders will be opened May 26 while the consultant will have 36 months of time to complete the assigned task.
According to Chawda, IT giants TCS and Infosys company coming up at IDA’s Super Corridor along with IT Park have helped Indore getting a tag of ‘IT Hub’ (of the state)and now, IDA’s planning is to make required contribution at its part by developing a Startup Park and Data Centre further to help Indore getting a tag of ‘Startup Hub’ in near future.
