TCS to set up software development campus in Indore’s “Super Corridor”

Indore, India, August 10, 2013: Tata Consultancy Services (BSE: 532540, NSE: TCS), a leading IT services, consulting and business solutions organization, announced that it will set up a software development campus in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, with an investment of Rs. 500 crores in two phases.

The TCS Indore campus will be located in the SEZ Area allotted by the Madhya Pradesh government. The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan was present to preside over this occasion and laid the foundation stone for Phase I at a ceremony held at the site of the campus today. He was joined by other dignitaries from the city.

The world-class TCS campus will comprise software engineering blocks, training facilities, amphitheatre and other facilities to offer a holistic environment for knowledge professionals. Sprinkled with water bodies and green areas, the park will incorporate several green building concepts such as zero discharge, energy efficient systems, rain water harvesting systems and integrated building management systems.

TCS likely to start recruitment’s soon

One of the biggest IT company of India TCS is all set to start functions in city. According to information company will initiate recruitment for their and also start construction work at site. On other hand infosys has not shown any sign of starting work.

After taking possession on 100 acre land at Super corridor TCS were in hurry to start construction here. According to information initially company will construct a boundary wall here and also start recruitment for their unit in city.

Company is looking to open Data center, BPO and software development center and more than 10,000 computer engineer will get jobs here. It is said that company will install recruitment camps in different parts of state and also recruit manpower from colleges campuses.

TCS will spend more than 550 crore to built a building here and it will be based on green building concept. Which means the construction would held on only 30 percent area whereas remaining 70 percent area would be covered with greenery. Though the production from here would start from 2016 but construction will start very soon.

 

1.       TCS to open campus in Indore

Infotech major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) will start developing its facility here on an 100 acres of land at the special economic zone ( SEZ) from August 10, officials said here today. The foundation laying ceremony and construction of the TCS facility will take place on August 10 in the Super Corridor area on the outskirts of Indore city, they said. The decision was taken after a high-level meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the Indore airport.

Chouhan directed officials to ensure availability of all facilities for the construction of the TCS facility. Under the first phase, the company will develop its premises with an investment of Rs 550 crore within two years. After the completion of first-phase, 5000 people will get direct employment and 15,000 others will get indirect employment at the facility. The facility will be completed fully in five phases, after which 25,000 people would get direct and another one lakh would get indirect employment, they said. The Madhya Pradesh government has provided 100 acre of land to TCS at concessional rates on the super corridor with an agreement that 50 per cent of jobs would be given to people from the state.
